Modern office reception in Kakamega with indigo Deltaxecho signage

How introductory consultations work.

Every engagement at Deltaxecho begins with a no-obligation introductory consultation — typically 45 minutes, conducted in person at our Kakamega CBD office or via video call for clients in Nairobi, Mombasa, or elsewhere in the region. During that session, an adviser will listen to your objectives, outline the most relevant jurisdiction and service options, and explain what a formal engagement would involve and cost. You will leave with a clear sense of whether offshore structuring is the right path for your situation — and if it is, what the next steps look like. There is no fee for the introductory call, and no obligation to proceed.

What to have ready before your consultation.

A brief summary of these four points allows your first call to be substantive rather than introductory.

Your primary objective

Asset protection, international trading, investment holding, succession planning, or a combination — knowing the core purpose shapes every jurisdiction and entity recommendation we make.

Asset types involved

Real property, equity holdings, cash and liquid assets, intellectual property, or business interests — each asset class has structuring implications that vary significantly by jurisdiction.

Your residency position

Where you are tax-resident, where the business operates, and where your investors or counterparties are located all affect which structures are available and which treaties may apply.

Your intended timeline

Whether you need a structure in place in 30 days or are planning 12 months ahead changes the recommended sequence of steps and the level of documentation preparation required upfront.

Frequently asked questions.

Is offshore structuring legal for Kenyan residents?

Yes, subject to proper disclosure. Kenyan residents may hold offshore entities and accounts provided they meet their domestic reporting obligations under the Income Tax Act and any applicable capital-controls regulations. We advise on the structure; clients should confirm domestic tax treatment with a registered Kenyan tax consultant.

How long does incorporation typically take?

Depending on the jurisdiction, standard incorporation takes between 3 and 10 business days once all identification and due-diligence documents have been received. Banking introduction typically adds 4 to 8 weeks, as account-opening timelines depend on the receiving bank's compliance queue.

What are the typical annual maintenance costs?

Annual costs vary by jurisdiction and entity type. As a general reference: Seychelles IBC maintenance runs approximately KSh 55,000 to KSh 80,000 per year; Mauritius GBC structures typically range from KSh 180,000 to KSh 350,000 annually, depending on substance requirements. BVI and Cayman costs are broadly comparable to Mauritius but can be higher for regulated entities. We provide a full fee schedule at the scoping stage.

Can you guarantee that a bank will accept our application?

No, and any adviser who does is not being honest with you. Banking acceptance decisions rest entirely with the bank's compliance department. What we can do — and what our track record reflects — is prepare an application dossier that addresses the bank's standard requirements thoroughly and presents the client's profile clearly and credibly.

Do you work with clients outside Kakamega?

Yes. While our office is based in Kakamega, we serve clients throughout Kenya — including Nairobi, Mombasa, Kisumu, and Eldoret — and across the East African Community. Consultations are available by video call, and document exchange is handled securely through our client portal.
